Kathmandu — A flash flood in the Budhi Gandaki River on Sunday morning damaged four hydropower projects. The flood caused damage to the Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project, Dobhan Khola Hydropower, Yaru Khola Hydropower, and Machha Khola Hydropower Project.
The greatest damage from the flood occurred at the Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project. The main camp area of the 341 MW project, promoted by Times Energy Pvt. Ltd., was completely swept away.
Other projects also suffered flood damage:
- Dobhan Khola Hydropower Project (24.5 MW): Some camp houses and a bailey bridge were swept away
- Yaru Khola Hydropower Project (30.91 MW): A bailey bridge was swept away
- Machha Khola Hydropower Project: Details of damage yet to emerge
