Asian Games kick off in Japan, Chandra and Manmati carry Nepali flag in march past
The 20th edition of the Asian Games has been inaugurated with a grand ceremony at Mizuho Athletics Stadium in Nagoya, Japan. Japanese Emperor Naruhito officially opened the competition. The Nepali team participated in the march past, where boxer Chandra Bahadur Thapa and kabaddi player Manmati Bista carried the Nepali flag.
Kathmandu. The 20th edition of the Asian Games has been inaugurated with a grand ceremony at the Mizuho Athletics Stadium in Nagoya, Japan. Japanese Emperor Naruhito officially opened the competition.
During the opening ceremony, the Nepali team participated in the march past under the leadership of Vishal Shrestha, Vice President of the National Sports Council and Chef de Mission of the Nepali team.
In the march past, boxer Chandra Bahadur Thapa and kabaddi player Manmati Bista carried the Nepali flag.
In the 20th Asian Games, 135 athletes from Nepal are participating in 21 sports.
