Kathmandu — The government has recommended ambassadors for 13 countries, including India, China and the US. Friday's Cabinet meeting recommended the names of proposed ambassadors for these countries.
According to Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, distinguished individuals from various fields have been recommended for appointment as ambassadors. This signals the government's preparation to bring new leadership to key diplomatic missions.
The government will now send the recommended proposed ambassadors for parliamentary hearings. After the parliamentary hearings are completed, agrément will be sought from the respective countries.
Once agrément is received, the President will appoint them as ambassadors to the respective countries. Only after this process is completed will the proposed ambassadors assume their duties.
