All-party meeting decides on Bhotekoshi flood: High-level political mechanism and parliamentary special committee to be formed
An all-party meeting held on Wednesday decided to form a high-level political mechanism coordinated by RSP President Rabi Lamichhane for sustainable management of the Bhotekoshi flood and disaster risk reduction. The meeting also decided to request Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal to form a parliamentary special committee.
Kathmandu. An all-party meeting held on Wednesday to discuss the sustainable management of the Bhotekoshi flood and disaster risk reduction has decided to form two important committees.
The meeting decided to form a high-level political mechanism comprising parties both inside and outside parliament, as well as a parliamentary special committee, according to RSP spokesperson Jagdish Kharel.
The high-level political mechanism will be coordinated by RSP President Rabi Lamichhane. The mechanism will include the following parties:
- Nepali Congress
- CPN-UML
- Nepali Communist Party
- Shram Sanskriti Party
- RPP
- Janamat Party
- JSP Nepal
According to spokesperson Kharel, this mechanism will remain in place to discuss sustainable disaster risk reduction and management as well as overall development and construction.
Similarly, the meeting decided to request Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal to form a parliamentary special committee.
