Additional gas transportation fare removed, now available at Rs 2,060 per cylinder
The Nepal LP Gas Industries Association has directed industries to sell LP gas at Rs 2,060 per cylinder in the Kathmandu Valley from Friday. The additional transportation cost via alternative routes has been removed after the Prithvi Highway, which was obstructed by the Trishuli River flood, reopened.
LP gas prices in the Kathmandu Valley are set to return to their previous levels. The Nepal LP Gas Industries Association has instructed industries to sell gas at Rs 2,060 per cylinder starting Friday.
Earlier, after the Prithvi Highway was obstructed at the Krishnabhir area due to flooding in the Trishuli River, alternative routes had to be used to bring gas to the Kathmandu Valley. As transportation costs increased, the association had urged industries to add Rs 105.38 per cylinder to the price set by the corporation, selling gas at a maximum of Rs 2,165.38.
With the opening of an alternative track on the obstructed road section and the resumption of transportation, LP gas bullets have started arriving in Kathmandu. Consequently, as the need to transport gas via alternative routes has ended, the association has directed sales at the previous price.
Association President Diwan Chand has urged all gas industries marketing in the Kathmandu Valley to not charge more than Rs 2,060 per cylinder as set by the corporation from Friday.
The association has also requested its industries to sell and distribute accordingly and to inform their respective dealers about the price.
