Abhishek Sharma's record century off 30 balls, fastest in T20
Indian batsman Abhishek Sharma smashed a century off just 30 balls against Afghanistan, setting the record for the fastest century by a batsman from a full-member nation. He scored 108 runs off 34 balls.
Kathmandu. Indian batsman Abhishek Sharma struck a 30-ball century in the third T20 International against Afghanistan, setting the record for the fastest century by a batsman from a full-member nation.
In the match played on Thursday night in Delhi, Abhishek completed his century off 30 balls, breaking the 33-ball record of Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza and New Zealand's Finn Allen. Allen had scored a 33-ball century against South Africa in the 2026 T20 World Cup, while Raza achieved the feat against Gambia in 2024.
Abhishek had reached his half-century off 16 balls. He then completed his century in 14 more balls, eventually getting out for 108 runs off 34 balls. He hit nine fours and 11 sixes.
This is Abhishek's third century in T20 Internationals. Among Indian batsmen, Rohit Sharma has five centuries and Suryakumar Yadav has four. The record for the fastest century in T20 Internationals, however, belongs to Estonia's Sahil Chauhan, who scored a century off 27 balls against Cyprus in 2024.
